Random Silliness

Yaaahoooo! I love standing up all by myself!

Uh-oh...I'm goin' down!

I'm ok...I'm alright...it's ok!

Can you see in my mouth? That little white spot on the top right? That's my new tooth! (Don't mind the tissue paper hat!)

My crazy mom took advantage of my being trapped in my high chair and started playing with my hair. She says I look like "Boo" from Monsters Inc. in this picture.

She says I look like one of the Monkees in this one...whoever they are!

This is just getting rediculous....now I have a fountain coming out of my head!

Get me out of here!

Whoohoo...freedom! (And back to my normal hair!)

Remembering 9/11

September 11th will forever be one of those dates when we will all remember exactly where we were when we heard what was happening. Our lives will forever be remembered as before and after 9/11. What I find interesting, is how in our darkest hours, people were crying out to God wondering where He was and how could He let this happen? Some of these are the same people who have kicked Him out of our schools and continually try to kick Him out of our government (thank you ACLU). As a believer in a Holy God who sent His only Son to die so we might live if we choose to follow Him, I know exactly where God was that day. He was in those towers and He was grieving along with all of us as this tragedy unfolded. I pray on the anniversary of this attack on our country, that those who are questioning the presence of God will simply open thier hearts and see He has been there all along...waiting for you.

Happy 2 Month Anniversary Lilybug!

I can't believe it, but Lily was placed in our arms 2 months ago today. Time has flown and Lily has grown! She will now pull herself up and walk while holding onto whatever she can, usually the coffee table or sofa. While we are sitting on the floor with her, she will crawl up to us, grab on , pull herself up and stand all by herself. She laughs hysterically like she is so proud of herself (which she should be!), and laughs even harder when she falls over which cracks us up! She recognizes so many words now. We can't even say "Cheerios" or "watermelon" anymore...she knows excatly what they are! She knows the names of and will perform almost always on command her funny faces ("scrunchy face" where she scrunches her nose and "psycho face" where she clenches her fists and tightens up her face). When in the car, she knows we have reached our destination by the sound of the parking brake being applied and she squeals with glee. We are so in awe of her and how incredibly well she is doing...so far beyond our expectations, which shows us God can do more than we can ever think to expect. Mommy and daddy love you so much sweet girl. We're so glad you're home!

Standing up at the coffee table enjoying her favorite snack.

She has such a great laugh. The best part is, she laughs a LOT!

Standing up with daddy.

"Look mom...no hands!"

"I'm standing all by myself!"

I just love this position she has found. Sooooo adorable! She tends to do it more when she is getting tired

Changing Priorities

Last night, Amy Grant was here in Los Angeles performing at the Greek Theater. Let's just say, anyone who knows me, knows how much I love Amy. Spring Break of 2006, Robert and I flew to Dallas/Ft. Worth just to see her in concert for her DVD recording. This time around, now that she was in our own backyard, we were here at home, having dinner with our friends Jim and Laura (and their baby Jack who is due to arrive in December!). What's changed?.....

How could we leave this?!? Too precious for words.

Fun Labor Day Weekend

Since it's been hitting the 100+ degree mark here for over a week, Lily has been spending a lot of time in her pool...which she LOVES! It's such a change from the days when she hated her bath so much. Now when she is inside and sees her pool out in the yard, she just stares at it and does the sign for more! She is brilliant.

Lily loves to give kisses, and she loves getting them from Shayna!

On Friday, August 31st, our friends Jenny and Samantha came for a visit. Samantha just LOVES Lily and it is so cute to watch Samantha play with her.

On Saturday, September 1st, we got some relief from the heat and went to visit my mom in Ventura. It's about 20 degrees cooler there. It was so nice!

Lily and her Lau Lau.

"NOW look what I can do!" She is growing and learning so much every day. I found her one morning sitting up in her crib. It's already going by so fast, I am trying to soak up and enjoy every minute with her.

On Sunday, September 2nd, our friend Martin and his daughter came out for a visit. It was their first time meeting Lily and we all had a really nice time. Martin's daughter was so great with Lily...she fed her and walked around with her all over the place, and had a lot of fun playing with her. We can't wait to see you guys again in November, if not sooner!

I dare you to tell me this is not the cutest face ever! Lily had lots of fun at her Nai Nai's on Labor Day. We had a really good BBQ...of course every meal at Nai Nai's is excellent!

Looking adorable in her PJ's.

"Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow." James 1:17

Lily is truly a perfect gift from God and we continue to be amazed at this precious gift from Him.
